Pathtrace, developers of EdgeCAM computer-aided
manufacturing (CAM) software, has announced support for Autodesk
Vault, the foundation of Autodesk’s data management solution
with the EdgeCAM 10.0 release. Autodesk Vault is a key component
of Autodesk Inventor Series software.
As
Autodesk’s Global Preferred CAM Partner, Pathtrace is committed
to providing tight integration with the Autodesk Inventor range
of products. The latest release of EdgeCAM links directly to Vault.
CAD Designs and EdgeCAM part files are stored in a secure centralized
location, allowing engineers to easily find and store data by version
number. Associativity is maintained between the different data sets
and additional file properties such as machine tool, operator and
time/date details are stored with the EdgeCAM part file. File properties
are searchable in Windows Explorer, making it easier to organize,
find and utilize valuable EdgeCAM data.
David Boucher, Pathtrace Marketing Director
commented, “As Autodesk’s Global Preferred CAM Partner
we will continue to offer industry leading level of integration
between EdgeCAM and the Autodesk Inventor Series products. Our Autodesk
Inventor customers today increasingly use Autodesk Vault for data
management and naturally expect EdgeCAM data to utilize the benefits
of this solution.”
“We are pleased that yet again Pathtrace
is at the forefront in CAD/CAM interoperability by extending integration
to include the data management arena,” adds Richard Runnells,
Senior Manager of Manufacturing Partner Programs at Autodesk. “This
commitment to the Autodesk Inventor Series product further demonstrates
the strength of our global partnership and further enhances EdgeCAM’s
position as the standard in solids-based machining.”
