Systems Inc.is pleased to announce a partnership with Project Lead
the Way (www.pltw.org) which will result in the use of EdgeCAM software
in its Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) course, beginning in
2004-05.
Project Lead the Way is a not-for-profit
secondary school pre-engineering program currently found in 640
schools in 37 states and the District of Columbia. Its cornerstones
are contemporary technical curricula grounded in relevant project-based
learning, and rigorous and ongoing professional development for
teachers. Its mission is to create dynamic partnerships with the
nation’s schools to prepare an increasing and more diverse
group of students to be successful in engineering and engineering
technology programs.
This announcement coincides with an announcement
that Autodesk, Inc. has named Pathtrace its Global Preferred Computer-aided
Manufacturing (CAM) Partner.
“In EdgeCAM, our students will benefit from using a CAM system
that is the most advanced solids based machining system available
today. The integration between EdgeCAM and Autodesk Inventor will
prove to be a significant time saver and benefit for teachers and
students,” noted Tom White, PLTW Director of Technology.
“In Pathtrace, Project Lead the Way has a partner which shares
its vision and goals for pre-engineering education,” noted
Dick Blais, Executive Director. “The beneficiaries will be
countless students in the PLTW network whose preparation for real
world manufacturing engineering will be greatly enhanced.”
“From our very first meeting,
we were excited by the opportunity to partner with Project Lead
the Way. At Pathtrace, we’re excited to play our part in encouraging
young people to chose a career in engineering” added Steve
Sivitter, CEO, Pathtrace Systems Inc.
