What extra information do I gain if my designer installs CAD Links?

If your designer installs CAD Links you will save : Threads, Construction Planes, Coordinate Planes and Sketch Planes.

With all this extra information you will be able to glean more information from the Solid CAD file and machine the part with all the information given by the CAD designer.

How do I install it?
1) Download edgecamcadlinks.exe to your hard drive
2) Run edgecamcadlinks.exe
3) The CAD Links installation program detects if you have Autodesk Inventor on your PC and if so will offer to install the link
4) Process to install the link.
5) The EdgeCAM Link icon will be added to the Inventor Standard Toolbar.

How do I use it once it is installed?
When you click on the EdgeCAM Link in Autodesk Inventor (see picture on right) you will automatically save 2 files (example.ipt and example.ipt.xml) you will then need to send both of these files to the EdgeCAM user for processing.
