EdgeCAM Solid Machinist allows the user to directly and seamlessly machine
Autodesk Inventor parts. The Autodesk Inventor user is able to import
files directly into EdgeCAM, where a wide range of innovative features
offer a quick and reliable route to manufacture.
True data integrity is achieved because the solid model is not filtered
through a translator. The result - more of the models' inherent intelligence
can be used to generate the machining strategy.
When a Autodesk Inventor part is opened in EdgeCAM Solid Machinist it
is maintained as a solid model, exactly as it was created. At a single
click EdgeCAM Solid Machinist uses automatic feature recognition to interrogate
the solid model to find machineable features. These features can then
be machined using EdgeCAM's extensive range of prismatic and free form
cutting operations.
Manufacturing operations can be automatically applied to features - reducing
the number of key-strokes, mouse clicks and the time to generate an NC
program.
EdgeCAM Solid Machinist incorporates toolpath to model associativity meaning,
quite simply, that late changes to the model will not affect the manufacturing
lead-time. EdgeCAM Solid Machinist will detect and notify the user when
a model or part has been changed. It will give the user the option to
update to the modified version, including any amended features. EdgeCAM
Solid Machinist will recognize dimensional and topological modifications,
report on amended features and recalculate the machining strategy and
NC code accordingly.
EdgeCAM Solid Machinist for Autodesk Inventor also includes:
Adaptive Roughing Cycle
Adaptive Rest Roughing
Flat Land Finishing
Toolpath Simulation
Code Wizard
